CEEETA was set up by a number of persons with vast experience and proven competence in the above mentioned fields. CEEETA was incorporated through a deed drawn up at Lisbon's 14th Notary Office on 22 April 1985 as a non profit-making association.

CEEETA enjoys a good capacity to liaise with countless national and foreign institutions.
In Portugal, CEEETA shares privileged ties with several Government Ministries and entities in the energy, transport and environment fields.
At an international level, CEEETA maintains close ties with a number of Directorate Generals of the Commission of the European Union particularly with DG I, DG VIII, DG XI, DG XII, DG XVI and DG XVII. CEEETA also established very close collaborations with Brazilian States Governments, Cuban energy authorities, Palestinian Energy Centre and Armenian, Bulgarian, Romanian and Georgian Governments. As member of the "ENER" network, THERMIE Portuguese OPET and ESHA Association, CEEETA maintains close ties with a countless European and International institutions.
CEEETA is the manager of the ALFA Programme for the European Commission. By virtue of its statute in accordance with the requirements of its activities, CEEETA has close contacts with various Schools and Universities in Latin America, Portugal, France, Switzerland, Spain and Germany.
